1U Alan /// Turing Machine Clone /// Black/White

Classic Turing Machine in 1U for your Eurorack.

Alan is a scaled-down version of Tom Whitwell’s Turing Machine: Alan possesses all the features of the classic version and offers connectivity options for all known Turing Machine expanders.

Alan is a shift register-based sequencer that isn’t programmed step-by-step but instead generates random sequences on its own, which can be frozen and looped, and then mutated step-by-step again. The concept is inspired by the minimal music movement centered around Steve Reich, Philip Glass, and others. Thanks to the expanders, Alan can serve as the core for random sequences in both melodies and drum arrangements and can be synchronized with other sequencers.
